Commissions.
What to Expect:
An art commission is a creative collaboration between you, the client, and me, the artist. Commissioning artwork allows you the opportunity to have a unique and personalized piece of fine art created in my aesthetic to your specifications. I will work alongside your specific needs for the artwork. For larger commissions it all starts with an email. I then use HoneyBook to propose, invoice, schedule, organize, and provide photos/questions regarding commissions. We can also schedule a phone consultation or setup a studio visit to view work. Following our discussion, I will quote out investment details, shipping options or local pickup, and timeline for the job, through the commission invoice. When all details are agreed upon, a non-refundable deposit is due to book the commission and reserve your spot on my calendar.
Composition Creation process:
I will contact you before I am ready to begin the piece and we will review the expectations. The remaining balance will be divided in half and 50% will be due at this time. The commission will be nonrefundable at this time. During creation, I will send images and communicate with you along the way. 2 minor edits will be included in the process. I will contact you once your piece is complete. The final payment on your invoice will be due at this time. Once the invoice is paid in full, you will receive your piece and you can enjoy the piece in your home.
The compositions currently offered fall into four categories: Oysters, Magnolias, Carved Botanicals, and Watercolors. Clients can reference my past works via Instagram and the online gallery for inspiration. Of course I am also willing to discuss custom pieces in my impasto/sculptural style. You, the collectors, adoration for your custom piece is my top priority. I want you to love it. The artwork you display in your home should be beautiful and reflect the ideal feeling/energy of your space. Be on the lookout for future collections where you can be the first to collect an original piece. New collections and holiday items will typically be highlighted on Instagram before they become live on the website.
Sculpted Oysters:
Inspired by the unique nature of oyster shells and their shape, as well as texture, my oyster studies take on a sculptural form. They are much more than just a painting. They are meant to be touched and felt and include actual oysters collected from the beaches of Grand Isle, Louisiana. They can be arranged as a single oyster or three. You may choose colors within my color palette for the background. You may also wish to use oysters that you have found as inpspiration. Do you want a textured background? Specific colors highlighted within the oyster? Do you want a specific number of oysters? Do you like drips? The clients wishes about details should be expressed.
Typical sizing for “Oysters Three Ways” unframed, gallery cradled panel canvas, with 1.5 or 2 inch edge:

Single oysters come in a myriad of sizes from 4x4 - 36 x 60 and pricing varies by size.
Carved Botanicals:
Inspired by the flora and fauna of South Louisiana, my carved botanicals are simple in nature and explore the organic form of Louisiana wildlife. My current offerings include magnolias, sugarcane, azaleas, irises, ferns, swamp lilies, cotton, and cattails. I am open to other florals and botanicals as requested. The pieces are hand carved into hand cut copper and then float mounted on handmade paper. You may choose from a variety of different paper colors. Framing is offered for an additional charge but may add up to two weeks to the timeline. If the pieces need to be completed by a specific date, that can be requested and I will do my best to accomodate. Size of copper is 4 x 4. Copper including handmade paper is 6 x 7.
Sculpted Magnolias:
The magnolias I create originated with a beloved painting in my Nana’s home. She was a wonderful artist and creative. From painting, to crocheting and sewing, she taught me to see the world from an artists perspective and do what you love. The magnolias are moody and impressionistic, seeking to capture the fleeting moment of southern sunshine shining through the leaves and petals of a magnolia tree blowing in the wind on one of those short-lived perfect spring Louisiana days. You may choose colors within my color palette and indicate if you want a lighter or darker/moodier feel. Do you prefer more of less texture? Would you like a darker or lighter blue, more greens, more reds or pinks, or a more neutral palette? The client’s wishes should be expressed. Prices will be determined upon size requested.
24 x 24 unframed: $600
25.5 x 25.5 framed: $650
watercolors:
Personalized watercolor portraits are excellent for gift giving or bringing a treasured photograph of your or a loved ones home to life.
